This is the 29th day of the dragon fruit seedlings. I find them in a sorry state. Last two weeks ago, they don't look so good because some fungi took root in the seedling nursery. The potting soil I used, must have these fungi already. Also, the seedling nursery is made up of a transparent plastic box and I didn't put any holes in the bottom. It's a closed environment because the box has a lid and I closed this lid so water is retained.
Apparently this has some bad effect on the seedlings. More and more of the fungi started to take over the seedling box. What I did next was kept the lid open and started to spray mist every after noon. Also, I added some cinnamon powder, vermicasts from my compost bins and crushed egg shells. After a few days, the fungi slowly disappeared. But my dragon fruit seedling doesn't show any significant growth improvement.
I must have over watered the nursery as some seedlings looked soggy. See the images below.
On some other note, some seedling are doing pretty well. I believe these seeds came from the vermicast I used. I'm sure because my compost bins have them, too. And they're a very fast growing seeds. I spotted one tomato seed.
Not looking Good - over watered?
The stalks of the seedling is 'dried' out or is it because of overwatering?
Rooting for this little fighter seedling! Go go go!
Tomato seed? This one is a fast grower. See the hairy stem, much different from the dragon fruit stems.
So sorry for this bunch. Over watered, I guess.
Grow, grow, grow!
